QR Scanner for Distdel ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This document details how we handle the information processed by our mobile scanner application. We design our software on a local-first principle: what is captured on your phone remains on your phone.
Unlike traditional connected applications, QR Scanner for Distdel operates without requiring accounts or central synchronization. Here is exactly what we do and do not collect:
To enable scanning services, the application requests the following device permissions:
Camera Access: Necessary to display the live viewfinder and capture visual QR codes. The frames are analyzed inside the volatile RAM cache of the device and are discarded instantly once a match is registered. We do not save photos or record videos.
Storage Access (Local Database): We log successfully matched barcodes to a secure Room database sandboxed inside the operating system. This is done purely so you can check your history. The logs are never synchronized to external servers.
Because your scanning history is saved locally, you maintain total control of this data:
When you scan a QR code containing a URL, we provide a button to open that link. Tapping it redirects your browser to that specific website. Once you leave the app, your connection is handled entirely by your standard web browser, and you are subject to the privacy terms of the external site. We do not pre-parse or proxy these destinations.
Our app does not collect any data and is fully safe for use by minors. We do not display targeted ads or utilize behavioral tracking models.
We may refine this policy document from time to time. The latest updates will always be published directly to this page.
